A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS
Founded three generations ago in the heart of County Meath, the Caffrey family started designing and manufacturing furniture products for the domestic home. Since first establishing a furniture wholesale and manufacturing business in Oldcastle, trading in the early days as Castle Furnishings Co. (1970’s), solely making sofa upholstery products. The business grew and come the 1980’s, Everest Bedding was formed to manufacture beds and mattresses. This proved very successful and soon seen the entire factory making mattress products which still continues today.
As the market diversified during the 1980’s, Peter Caffrey saw an opportunity to produce solid wood furniture. He began manufacturing kitchen tables and chairs along with dressers and a wide array living room furniture which proved to be a great hit with the customer. From this Gleneagle Furniture was born and soon became the number one brand for Irish made furniture. During the late 1990’s as the brands expanded across the UK, the Homelee Range of Mattresses was added under the Gleneagle umbrella.
As the economic downturn took hold during the late 2000’s, it saw many changes in the furniture trade. This pushed us more and more to sell direct to the public and so in 2009 our first retail shop in Beechmount Home Park, Navan, Co. Meath was opened. Soon followed stores in Cavan town and the Naas Road, Dublin. In July 2021 our Athlone Store was established and one year later in 2022 we have opened our fifth store in Dundalk, Co. Louth.
We now are Ireland’s only manufacturer selling direct to the public, with five branches showcasing all our furniture, bedding and interiors with nationwide delivery.
WE MANUFACTURE
At Gleneagle Furniture we take pride in our 40 plus years’ experience, expertise and craftsmanship in designing and manufacturing bespoke furniture.
We design, handcraft and supply our quality furniture from our own purposed built manufacturing facility in Oldcastle County Meath. This facility includes our warehouse and distribution hub.
Alongside our retail brand Caffrey's Furniture, we operate a contract and commercial business supplying top grade kitchens, fitted furniture, beds and FF&E supplying right across Europe, the UK and Ireland.
So whether you are decorating your dream home or refurbishing a commercial property we have the skillset to complete the project in time and on budget.
